Har Ki Dun Valley: A Trek to the Valley of Gods
Har Ki Dun, which translates to "Valley of Gods," is a cradle-shaped valley in the Garhwal Himalayas, situated at an altitude of 3,566 meters (11,700 ft). It is one of the most popular and picturesque treks in Uttarakhand, offering a perfect blend of ancient villages, dense forests, alpine meadows, and breathtaking views of snow-covered peaks. The valley is believed to be the route taken by the Pandavas on their way to ascend to heaven.
The trek starts from the village of Sankri, located in the Govind Ballabh Pant National Park. The trail meanders alongside the Supin River, passing through charming villages like Osla, known for its unique wooden houses and ancient temple dedicated to Duryodhana.
